WOLFGANG MIEDER
INTERNATIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHY OF NEW AND REPRINTED PROVERB
COLLECTIONS, 1993*
Fifty-five new and reprinted proverb collections from
around the world have come to my attention this past year.
As usual, some of them are major scholarly contributions,
while others are clearly intended for the popular market. It
is also important to note that I have once again included
collections of quotations and other types of phraseological
units. Many of these do contain proverbial materials and are
of considerable value to paremiologists.
Colleagues and friends continue to be of assistance in
submitting bibliographical information. This year I would
like to acknowledge in particular the aid of Marinus A. van
den Broek (Kortenhoef), George B. Bryan (Burlington), Gyula
Paczolay (Veszprém), Helmut Walther (Wiesbaden),
Fionnuala Williams (Belfast), and Metin Yurtbasi (Gaziemir).
May I also once again ask you to send me new and reprinted
proverb collections. I will gladly reimburse you for your
expenses in order to keep my extensive paremiographical
archive as complete and international as possible.
